Samuel Blackmar, Esq.

Since 2016, Sam Blackmar’s career has been devoted to supporting healthcare providers in the battle for fair treatment from health insurers and government benefit plans. Sam has represented a broad range of healthcare stakeholders in a diverse set of issues.

Between 2018 and 2020, Sam worked for a leading nationwide class-action firm in Washington, DC, where he helped found the Healthcare Practice Group. While there, Sam litigated high value class action claims against major health insurers, and drove numerous reimbursement disputes to successful resolutions for his clients.

Sam’s career in private practice continued on the West Coast where he has represented major hospital systems, laboratories, behavioral healthcare facilities, ambulatory surgery centers, dentists, physicians, med spas, chiropractors, and physicians in a broad array of regulatory issues, business litigation, zoning disputes with municipalities, governmental investigations, labor and employment, corporate formation, and reimbursement. While Sam’s specialty is reimbursement, he has the capacity to provide comprehensive legal support to his clients.

One of Sam’s focuses is legal cost containment. He believes that competent advice can be affordable, and that it is not always necessary for a client to post a $5,000+ retainer to handle an issue that can be solved by a provider without a lawyer.
